Your Steam Wallet balance is used automatically at checkout when you purchase a game, DLC, or in-game content on Steam. When you go to buy something, your wallet balance will appear as a payment option. If your balance covers the full amount, no other payment method is needed. If your balance doesn't fully cover the purchase, you can combine it with a card or PayPal to cover the difference. To check your current balance, click your username in the top-right corner of the Steam client or website and select Account Details — your wallet balance is shown at the top. Note: Steam Wallet balance cannot be withdrawn or transferred to another account and can only be spent on Steam.
