How to Fix "You Are Not Entitled to the Additional Content" PlayStation Error (CE-33678-7)

You try to access DLC, a season pass, or add-on content and get error CE-33678-7: "You are not entitled to the additional content." This means PlayStation can't verify that your account has the right to access that content. Here are all the reasons it happens and how to fix each one.

Reason 1: License Sync Issue — Fix with Restore Licenses

The most common cause is a license sync problem — you own the content but PlayStation can't verify it because your local license data is out of sync with PlayStation's servers. The fix is to restore your licenses.

Restore licenses on PS5 and PS4

  1. Go to Settings → Users and Accounts → Other → Restore Licenses. Select Restore and wait for the process to complete. This can take a few minutes if you have a large library. Once done, restart your console and try accessing the content again.

  2. Go to Settings → Account Management → Restore Licenses. Select OK and wait for it to complete. Restart your PS4 and try the content again.
  3. If it doesn't work the first time, try restoring licenses a second time. Some users need to run it twice before it fully syncs. After restoring, restart the console before testing.

Reason 2: Console Is Not Set as Primary

If your PS4 or PS5 is not set as your Primary console, other users on the console can't access your content — and even your own account may have trouble verifying licenses when offline. On PS5 — enable Console Sharing and Offline Play:
  1. Go to Settings → Users and Accounts → Other → Console Sharing and Offline Play
  2. Select Enable
On PS4 — activate as Primary PS4:
  1. Go to Settings → Account Management → Activate as Your Primary PS4
  2. Select Activate
If you get an error saying it's already activated on another console, you'll need to deactivate it first — go to account.sonyentertainmentnetwork.com/devices.action to deactivate all devices, then reactivate your console.

Reason 3: DLC Region Doesn't Match Game Region

DLC is region specific. If your base game is from one region (for example, a US disc or a US digital purchase) and you try to redeem DLC from a different region, it will not work. This commonly happens when:
  • You bought a physical disc from a different country to your PSN account region
  • You redeemed a game key from a seller in a different region
  • You have accounts in multiple regions and purchased the game on one but the DLC on another
The fix is to make sure your DLC is from the exact same region as your base game. Contact the seller for a DLC code in the matching region.

Reason 4: Content Was Claimed via PS Plus and Subscription Has Expired

If you originally claimed the content through a PS Plus subscription and your subscription has since expired or lapsed, you will lose access to that content until you resubscribe. Check your PS Plus status at Settings → Account Management → Account Information → PlayStation Subscriptions. If your subscription expired, renewing it will restore access immediately.

Reason 5: Wrong PSN Account

The DLC must be accessed on the same PSN account that purchased or claimed it. If you're signed into a different account, you won't be entitled to the content. Make sure you're signed into the correct account. If someone else in your household bought the DLC on their account, you can only access it if their account is set as the Primary console on your PS5 or PS4.

Still Not Working?

If none of the above fixes the issue:
  • Check the PlayStation Network Status page — if PSN is having issues, license verification may fail temporarily
  • Delete the DLC from your console and redownload it fresh from your Library
  • Contact PlayStation Support with your proof of purchase — they can verify your entitlement on their end.
