How to Check Your Xbox Balance — Console, Web, PC & App

Want to know how much credit is left in your Xbox account? Your Xbox balance is actually stored in your Microsoft account — the same account used for Xbox, Windows, and the Microsoft Store. Here's how to check it on every platform.

Xbox Console — Check Balance

Check your balance on Xbox console

  1. Press the Xbox button on your controller to open the guide. Navigate to Profile & system → select your profile.
  2. Go to Settings → Account → Payment & billing.

  3. Your Microsoft account balance is displayed here under Payment options. If you have multiple payment methods, scroll right to find the Microsoft account balance.

Web Browser — Check Balance

The quickest way from any device:
  1. Go to account.microsoft.com/billing/payments
  2. Sign into your Microsoft account
  3. Your Microsoft account balance is displayed under Payment options

Windows PC — Check Balance

On a Windows PC via the Microsoft Store app:
  1. Open the Microsoft Store app
  2. Click your profile icon in the top-right corner
  3. Select Payment options — your balance is shown there
Alternatively, open any Microsoft Store checkout and your balance will appear as a payment option automatically.

Xbox App — Check Balance

On the Xbox mobile app (iOS or Android):
  1. Open the Xbox app and sign in
  2. Tap your profile icon
  3. Select Microsoft Account → Payment options
  4. Your balance is displayed at the top

Quick Reference

  • Xbox console: Settings → Account → Payment & billing → Payment options
  • Web: account.microsoft.com/billing/payments → Payment options
  • Windows PC: Microsoft Store app → profile icon → Payment options
  • Xbox app: Profile icon → Microsoft Account → Payment options
Good to know: Your Microsoft account balance does not expire as long as it was added via a gift card or direct purchase. Promotional credits may have expiry dates — check your account for details.
