How do I gift a game on Steam?

To gift a game on Steam: find the game in the Steam store → click Add to Cart → open your cart → click the dropdown under the game → select "Purchase as a gift" → choose a friend from your friends list → add an optional message → complete the purchase. Your friend will receive a notification and has 14 days to accept. If they don't accept, the gift is returned to you with a full refund. Note: the recipient must be on your Steam friends list for at least 3 days before you can gift them a game.
